- Usage Data: Pages visited, vessels saved to watchlists, and search queries, collected to personalize your browsing experience and generate seller analytics.
2 How We Use Your Information
Your information is treated as strictly confidential and is used solely to facilitate maritime trade and improve platform functionality. Specifically, we use it to:
- Match buyers with sellers efficiently based on search criteria and saved alerts.
- Transmit purchase inquiries securely to the designated vessel owner or mandated broker.
- Verify the legitimacy of brokers and companies to maintain a highly secure ecosystem free of phantom listings.
- Provide anonymized analytics to sellers regarding the performance (views/clicks) of their listings.
3 Information Sharing & Confidentiality
We do not sell your personal or corporate data to third parties. Data is only shared in the following strictly controlled circumstances:
- With Sellers: When you submit an inquiry for a vessel, your contact details and attached documents are shared securely via our encrypted pipeline with the seller handling that specific asset.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if legally required by maritime law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of the ShipDealing platform.
4 Data Security
ShipDealing employs industry-standard 256-bit encryption protocols to protect your data in transit and at rest. Uploaded documents (such as GA Plans, Certificates, and LOIs) are stored on secure servers and are only accessible to authorized, verified parties. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, no electronic transmission over the internet is completely infallible.
